Digital Product Passport for Yachts and Recreational Boating

Yachts, recreational boats and high-value marine components require supply-chain traceability, decades of maintenance and documentation of international ownership transfers. MyLime’s DPP certifies construction, materials, engines, service history and every flag transfer. Yachting is not among the priorities of the 2025–2030 ESPR Working Plan: the DPP is voluntary, while electric propulsion batteries above 2 kWh require the Battery Passport from 18 February 2027.

Recreational boating is subject to Directive 2013/53/EU on essential requirements for watercraft; construction quality is often certified by bodies such as RINA. Electric propulsion batteries above 2 kWh are industrial batteries under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and from 18 February 2027 require the Battery Passport. The DPP brings all documentation together into an immutable digital identity.

It’s an emerging adoption. Premium Italian shipyards are launching pilot programmes on custom yachts above 30 metres. The Battery Passport for electric propulsion is accelerating its adoption.
How are international registry changes handled?
The DPP supports multi-jurisdiction use: every flag transfer signs a transition while preserving the history. The owner decides the visibility of personal data.
Is it compatible with the shipyard’s Carnet?
Yes. The DPP integrates the Carnet’s data via API and makes it verifiable without duplicating paper reporting.
