Digital Product Passport for Bikes and Micromobility

Commuter e-bikes, cargo bikes, e-scooters and sharing fleets are the most active front of European urban mobility. From 18 February 2027, the Battery Passport is mandatory for e-bike, cargo-bike and e-scooter batteries, regardless of capacity. Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 classifies e-bike and e-scooter batteries as LMT batteries: from 18 February 2027 they must have the Battery Passport, with no capacity threshold. For sharing fleets, transparency requirements on materials and durability are increasingly common in public tenders.

Can the DPP be applied to fleets of thousands of vehicles?
Yes. MyLime supports bulk onboarding via API: a fleet of 10,000 vehicles can be tracked within hours. Blockchain storage is optimised with multi-hash anchoring.
Is the Battery Passport also needed for e-scooters with small batteries?
Yes. E-scooter and e-bike batteries are LMT batteries, and from 18 February 2027 they require the Battery Passport regardless of capacity: the 2 kWh threshold only applies to industrial batteries. MyLime integrates it into the vehicle’s DPP, along with traceability, anti-theft and maintenance history.
How is the handover of a vehicle from a sharing fleet to an end customer handled?
Through the Customer Claim module: the user registers the vehicle in their own account, inheriting its service history and becoming the certified owner.
