The ESPR Working Plan indicates delegated-act adoption for iron and steel in 2026 and for aluminium in 2028. The CBAM (Regulation (EU) 2023/956) requires those importing steel, aluminium and other carbon-intensive goods into the EU to declare their embedded emissions, with the definitive regime in force from 2026. The Critical Raw Materials Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1252) requires large companies producing strategic technologies to periodically assess the risks in their supply chains.
